Kennie Obateru is a seasoned and highly experienced Public Relations practitioner with wide local and international experience in the Petroleum Industry spanning about thirty years.

He is a member of the International Public Relations Association, the African Public Relations Association, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Kennie Obateru started his working career as a News reporter/ Sub Editor in the Nigerian Herald Newspapers in 1979. He joined the NNPC in 1992 and has served in several leadership roles in the corporation including Manager, Media Relations (2007 –2008); Manager, Public Affairs, Port Harcourt Refinery (2008 - 2010); Manager, Public Affairs, NAPIMS-NNPC (2010 – 2015); General Manager NNPC London Office (2015-2020).

He presently leads the corporation’s public relations and corporate communications efforts as the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division.
